Ripple Rescue is a top-down mobile puzzle game. As a level and cinematic designer, this game required me to design with replay-ability, addictiveness, and satisfaction in mind, much different than the open-world breathtaking environments I have worked on in the past.


Being sure to lead the player in the right direction, but give them a challenge, is important. The player needs to feel like they bested the level themselves, whether on the first try or through trial and error, it should feel just as satisfying.

Something that was challenging was to make sure the medium levels were properly scaled to the Easy and Hard levels, while implementing new mechanics like Lock and Key. Making a tutorial-like medium difficulty level for the Key Mechanic that worth it to play for the player was important.
