
Creating film-quality game cinematics in a western environment with Unreal Engine.

Using filmmaking techniques inside Unreal Engine for virtual production combines a number of disciplines including game design and film production. Using virtual cameras encompasses many decisions made using real cameras. Mimicking old westerns using 35mm film settings and fine-tuning each shot helped achieved the look I was aiming for.

Timelines in editing are similar between Game Design and the Film Industry. There is no line between these industries, they are collaborative now. Camera-cuts, blocking, timing, and cinematography are all done in engine using Game Development skills, but combined with film-making techniques and knowledge is when they come together for a finished vision.
